Of Mice and Men book jacket
Graphic design, photography
If you have ever read this book, you will know that Steinbeck's description of the landscape in each scene is very meticulous, allowing the reader to imagine the setting in great detail. This is what I wanted to convey behind the concept of the front cover. I therefore went on to develop an interesting view of the landscape, using images of mountains and lakes that I have photographed over the years. The abstract image that I finalised was also used on a poster, along side a quote from the book that I displayed at my university degree show in May 2014.
‘The golden foothill slopes curve up to the strong and rocky Gabilan mountains, but on the valley side the water is lined with trees — willows fresh and green’
